Even though, as awakened entrepreneurs, we are passionate about that something special we bring to the world, our passion alone won’t pay the rent!
We must have clients and customers who want to pay us plenty for our offerings. And we must be open to receive our worth for what we do to help our clients.
So how do you attract enough of the right clients and customers into your business?
I do say “the right clients” because the last thing you need is to have engagement with clients who don’t want to pay you or they are a challenge to work with, because they don’t see the value of what you are doing for them. Charging too little for your worth normally attracts those kinds of clients.
And the biggest frustration is not having enough of those right clients!
The first thing for you to do is define and get clear on the clients that you LOVE to work with. Those who are inspired, are a joy to work with, they show up and they do what it takes, so they get the results that make a real difference to their lives, lifestyle or business.
This means “niching down” to one particular type of person who will almost be guaranteed to buy from you because you know that you have a solution for their specific frustration or pain or you can move them towards pleasure.
“Oh no!” I hear you cry. “Won’t I be missing out on some of the people who need my help and solutions?”
Well here is the thing – You know that your services or products will benefit or please nearly everyone. However marketing to everyone is like firing a shotgun in the dark and hoping you hit something. You can’t possibly market effectively to 7.2 billion people on the planet! Especially with limited time and a limited budget.
You might make s few sales for your efforts – and this can turn out to be an expensive exercise as you have to shoot many more times to be able to hit your target.
It would be much more time, effort and money efficient if you know exactly who you were aiming for, where they are and what they need specifically.
Like firing a rifle directly at you target – knowing you have higher chance of hitting first time.
So now do you see how it makes sense to define your ideal client or “soul-mate client” as I like to call them. The perfect person who you LOVE to work with and they LOVE you back. Once you know who that person is you will be able to craft a message so that they will hear you above the noise and see your product or service as perfect for them –they will know that you care. They will be attracted to your light rather than you have to hunt them down with a big torch and a dog!
Here are 8 simple steps that will help you to find your ideal, soul-mate clients who will fall in love with you and are excited to work with you –
- WHO IS YOUR SOUL-MATE CLIENT?- Decide who you would love to work with – your dream client. You get them and they resonate with you. See them as one person in group of similar people, who will you will direct all your marketing towards.
- WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM? – Write down everything you know about that one person – what they look like – their likes and dislikes – their spending patterns – their level of education – their income…..
- WHAT IS THEIR BIG FRUSTRATION? – Write down what you know about their major frustrations, Pains – Aspirations – Issues – Needs.
- CREATE AN AMAZING SOLUTION – A product, programme, service that you know will solve their P.A.I.N. or move them towards pleasure – that they will LOVE you for.
- DISCOVER WHERE THEY HANG OUT – Write down several places where you know they are likely to be – both online and offline. Places where you would Love to hang out too.
- THEN CRAFT A MESSAGE THAT SPEAKS TO THEIR P.A.I.N. – Craft your message that will let them know you are the only person who understands and cares about them and their concerns.
- CREATE A VISIBILITY PLAN – Help them to find you by – forming a dedicated group or tribe. Then create a group on Facebook or Linkedin – write blogs and articles – do podcasts or webinars or YouTube videos – do talks, presentations – attend networking events – or run your own events and workshops. The choice is vast – so chose something that you will LOVE to do on a consistent basis to help your people to find you.
- OFFER THE CHANCE TO HELP THEM DIRECTLY FOR FREE! – So that they can experience working with you or whatever you specialise in. Then because they know, like, trust and LOVE you they will already be inclined to trust you and then go on to buy into YOU. (Clients will buy you before they buy your products or service.)
Now you can touch them emotionally because you have shown them that you care and that you know them inside and out.
Most people will, almost always. buy on emotional triggers and justify their purchase with logical reasoning. Achieving that would be so much harder if you tried to target everyone, because everyone has different triggers and needs.
Here are a couple of examples –
If you were a network marketer in the health field – and you chose your ideal customer as young mums because you LOVE working with them. You would speak of their P.A.I.N. in terms of getting rid of “baby fat”, restoring energy, developing healthy eating habits etc… And explain to them how you help them FEEL good with your product or service.
If you were a reflexologist – and you chose to work with people working in corporate companies because you LOVE helping them. You would speak to their P.A.I.N in terms of stress, overwork, irregular hours causing under productivity and by having regular reflexology treatments you could help them restore their wellbeing, which would help them achieve more in their life and work in a more relaxed way. And how good they would FEEL when they have treatments with you.
So now you know why your clients LOVE you – because you bring value to their lives and they are enthusiastic to buy what you have to offer!
