I like my bath really hot! With lots of bubbles and gorgeous smelly smells.
I like the water deep so that when I sink down it comes over my shoulders and envelops me in a whirl of wet warmth. I lie suspended, floating, not floating, just relaxing
My stresses floating away.
My muscles disengaging.
Emptying my mind.
Are you there with me?
That’s nice. While you’re here I’d like to tell you about this one particular time when I was wallowing, I had a simple but profound aha moment!
Funny how having a bath does that to people! (Eureka!)
As I started to come around from the joy of releasing the tensions of the day, I began to focus my attention on the bubbles and foam covering the surface of the bath.
Each bubble was so beautiful with its rainbow of colours swirling on surface. Each one light and transparent almost nothing, just full of air.
Yet as they connected to each other, they formed one large body of foam that appeared solid. Each coming together with the next made a stronger structure that could hold each bubble in suspension.
I could see the similarity of how we are connected to everything around us and within us.
How we are all connected to each other – how we are connected to the earth and the universe. So close are we that when we act or even think that action or thought affects so many things and causes the next thing to act or react.
Everything that exists consists of atoms. Each atom has a purpose- each atom has a space of nothing within it, just like the bubbles. Yet when the atoms come together in an organised structure they become steel, air, diamond, leaf, bone, skin tissue…
Each molecule linked with the next to create a thing of beauty, function, energy. Even our thoughts can connect – thought is energy and can travel out to wherever we send it. It returns to us our desires and intention.
As individual beings in the scheme of things we too are connected to the next person whether we know it or not, whether we choose to or not. We may choose to buy some apples here in our shops. The effect is that someone somewhere across the other side of the planet gets paid and can then feed their children.
We think a thought and the next person picks up that thought – they can feel the vibe going on between you.
How about taking our connection to another level? And touch loved ones, neighbours, our fellow planet travellers and create a body of oneness each playing our part yet with a common cause. Just like the bubble in my bath holding on to each other lifting each other up.
Wouldn’t it be just amazing if that cause was able to end war, hunger, prejudice, greed, fear…
Create instead peace, giving, harmony, abundance, sharing, love, freedom. Not for any personal gain but just because we can. How cool would that be?
If your thoughts are still on me in the bath...and you haven’t taken in anything I’ve said well…
Time to snap out of it!!!
“And… You are back in the room!”(a la Darren Brown)
Yes I know …. I’m a dreamer, but dreams are where everything ever invented have started.
All I can say is I hope you enjoyed taking a bath with me
I hope I’ve given you something to think about as we approach Christmas and go into the New Year.
The festive season is a time for connecting and reconnecting, meeting new friends and re-touching old ones, gathering with family.
Let’s think about what we can achieve by pulling together and helping those that are alone disillusioned, fallen during the coming year.
I’d better get out of the bath now. Close your eyes and tune your back please. Thank you!
Here’s to you and yours having a Merry soulful and connected Christmas.
Touch someone new this festive season.
Together – We can!
